Sen Michi Kai Martial Arts Association. Sensei Gordon Caulfield 4th Dan black belt was born in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear in August 1963. He is a former SMKMAA regional and British Champion (1983). Caulfield was in charge of the SMKMAA from 1989 to 2005, having previously trained in Sen Michi Kai Martial Arts (freestyle karate, kick-boxing and weaponry) from an early age, as well as being a former student of Wado ryu karate and Shotokan Karate. He was also a former student of both ITF and WTF Taekwondo. One of eight karate team captains in the 1985 Top District Competition, held in County Durham UK. Ended his training career in 2005, coaching mainly in Morpeth, Northumberland, accompanied by his senior student Karen Farthing. Caulfield's last trophy success was in the 1995 open karate championships held in Coxhoe, County Durham UK.
