Quaid E Azam Premier Cricket League (QEAPCL)
editThe Quaid E Azam Premier Cricket League is a cricket competition based in West Yorkshire. As of the 2024 season there are 38 member clubs split into 4 divisions: the Premier section, the Crescent section, the Jinnah section and finally the Star section.
The leagues premier cup competition(Leeds Sign Design Cup) was introduced in the 2021 season with Kashmir Dewsbury CC winning the first edition.[1] The 2022 and 2023 seasons saw Bhalot Strikers CC win and then successfully defend their trophy. [2] [3]
On top of this the league introduced a 100 ball tournament, sponsored by Syhiba Restaurant, in 2022 and saw Kashmir Dewsbury CC take home the first trophy. 2023 saw White Rose CC win their first piece of silverware as they took home the 100 ball trophy.[4]

Playing Conditions
editEach league fixture is 45 overs per side with each team playing against each other home and away. Teams are limited to 2 amateur overseas players in the playing 11, with a maximum of 4 being allowed to register with each club. Any player who has played international cricket or first class cricket within the last 5 years will be classified as a professional and unable to register with a club. However any domestic first class players who have played 3 or less games are allowed to register with a club.[7]
Teams are given 3 hours to bowl their 45 overs with fielding penalties imposed if a team goes over the allocated time. Each bowler is allowed to bowl a maximum of 9 overs.[8]
A team can gain a maximum of 20 points from one game. 10 points are given for a win, 8 for a tie and 6 if a game is rained off. The first batting point starts at 100 runs with 1 extra point for every further 20 runs ( to a maximum of 5 points). The first bowling point starts at 2 wickets with 1 extra point for every further 2 wickets (to a maximum of 5 points).[9]
League Formation
editThe league was founded on the 8th of January 2020 after 23 member clubs of the Quaid E Azam Sunday Cricket League chose to resign from the league.[10]
The first season saw 26 clubs split into 3 divisions with 15 from Bradford, 6 from Leeds, 3 from Wakefield and 2 from Huddersfield.[11]
Bradford Inter League Charity T20
editIn 2023 the league took on the famous Bradford Premier League to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research at the Park Avenue cricket ground in Bradford. The game was competitive and seen by a decent ground as the Quaid E Azam Premier League Side came out on top.[12] The success of the first match saw a repeat of the fixture in 2024, whilst the game went right down to the wire the result was the same as the QEAPCL beat their rivals for a second time. [13]
Anti Racism Pledge
editIn April of 2024 Basharat Hussain, Executive Chair of the league[14] signed a pledge on behalf of all 38 clubs in the league that commits to tackle racial inequalities and attitudes within the game. Alongside him the president of the Airedale-Wharfedale Cricket league and Chief executive of the Bradford Premier League were also present to sign on behalf of their respective clubs. [15]
