Ponnusamy Karthik
editPonnusamy Karthik (born 1992 in Malaiyarasan Kuppam, Tamil Nadu, India) is an Indian entrepreneur and the founder and chairman of the Namma Family Group of Companies, which operates in sectors such as real estate, construction, and import-export. He is also actively involved in charitable work through the Seyal Trust, which focuses on education, disaster relief, and community welfare initiatives.[1]
Early Life and Education
editKarthik was born into a business family in the Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu. His father, Annadurai, and mother, Kavitha, played a significant role in his early upbringing. He completed his primary and secondary education at Dr. Lemire School of Excellence, Vettavalam. Following his interest in civil engineering, he pursued a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Vignesh Polytechnic College and later completed a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Anna University.[2][3]
In June 2021, Karthik married Priya Govindaraj.

editKarthik's career began in the real estate sector. He focused on market analysis, infrastructure development, and the competitive landscape of the real estate industry. This research phase provided him with the foundational knowledge to start his own venture.
In 2016, Karthik founded Namma Family Builder & Developer in Guduvanchery, Chennai. The company’s early projects were focused on real estate development in the fast-growing Guduvanchery area. By 2017, the company expanded into plot resales, a venture that proved successful and led to further growth in Tamil Nadu.[2][4]
Expansion and Diversification
editThe company's operations expanded significantly between 2018 and 2020. Karthik led efforts to diversify into new sectors, including the import-export business. Namma Family Builder & Developer was incorporated as a private limited company in 2020[5].
By 2023, Namma Family had grown to employ over 160 full-time employees and 900 laborers. The company had completed over 1000 projects, serving more than 10,000 clients in India and abroad, including the United States, United Kingdom, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia. [6][4]
ISO Certification and International Presence
editIn 2022, Namma Family Builder & Developer obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification, This certification helped the company build a reputation for delivering projects that meet international standards. The firm has been involved in premium real estate projects across Tamil Nadu and other parts of India, expanding its clientele to international markets.[7][8]
Philanthropy
editIn addition to his business ventures, Karthik established Seyal Trust, a non-profit organization that supports various social causes. The trust's initiatives include:[9]
