Kevin A. Giraldo is a Colombian engineer and scientist working at the forefront of AI-powered nucleic acid-based technologies for therapeutics and biosensing. He is known for his contributions to biosensor development, microfluidics, and machine-learning applications in healthcare[1].
He studied at the Universidad de Los Andes, where he graduated bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. He subsequently pursued a master's degree specialising in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at Imperial College London. Under the mentorship of Prof. Dame Molly Stevens, he developed a sensor for studying insulin release from pancreatic islets in organ-on-chip technologies for drug development [2].
