Jacinta Opara (born 2 February 1976) is a Nigerian academic and the current Vice Chancellor of Dominican University, Ibadan-Nigeria. She has previously served as Head of Department, Dean, Director, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor in institutions of higher learning within and outside the shores of Nigeria.[1][2][3][4][5].

Prof Opara was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria on 2 February 1976 to the family of Mazi Emmanuel Nosike Opara and Florence Uwamezi Opara [nee Agbakwuru]. She is married to Professor Austin Nosike and they have five children. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in 1996 from the University of Nigeria, an MEd in 1998 from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, and an MSc Science Education from University of Port Harcourt. She also holds MSc from Universidad Central de Nicaragua, Nicaragua (2007), a PhD from Universidad Central de Nicaragua, Nicaragua (2009), an MBA from Universidad San Antonio de Murcia in Spain, and a DSc from Universidad Azteca, Mexico (2016).[6]
