James Aheebwa (born 19 May 1998 in Mulago) is a Ugandan footballer.[1] who plays for Vaulx-en-Velin FC and the Uganda national football team (the Cranes) as a goalkeeper.
Youth Career
editJames Aheebwa started his football career at Citizen Primary school (2007 – 2009), where he managed to win the Copa Coca-Cola Championship tournament and joined Kampala Kids League (KKL) Academy until 2011. James later joined St Mary’s Kintende boarding school[2] (2010 – 2016), winning three Coca-Cola Championships and two African cups for secondary school[3]
Senior Career
editVipers SC (2015)
editJames Aheebwa joined Vipers SC[4] which plays in the Uganda Premier League[5] in 2015, where he made his senior career debut match and had 10 appearances.
La Duchère (2018 – 2019)
editIn 2018, he left Uganda to sign a football contract with La Duchère in France, where he made 26 appearances.
Chassieu Décines FC (2019 – 2020)
editBetween 2019 and 2020, James Aheebwa played for Chassieu Décines FC in France.
Vaulx-en-Velin FC (2020 – 2022)
editJames Aheebwa later moved to Vaulx-en-Velin FC where he played between 2020 and 2022, making 37 appearances.
FC Lyon (2022 – 2023)
editIn 2022, James Aheebwa signed a contract with FC Lyon in France, making 70 appearances until 2023.
