Genoplot
editGenoplot is a US-based online platform providing advanced tools for genetic ancestry analysis. Users can upload raw DNA data from services like 23andMe, AncestryDNA, and MyHeritage to explore their genetic heritage in greater depth.
History
editGenoplot was founded in 2020 with the goal of making advanced genetic ancestry tools accessible to the personal genomics community. It operated in stealth mode with invited users until 2022, when it was made available to the general public. In 2023, after the untimely demise of the popular genomics discussion forum Anthrogenica, Genoplot integrated community forums into the site to ensure archived data from Anthrogenica remained available to the genomics community. The platform supports a community-driven approach, encouraging the creation and sharing of custom calculators and ancestry models.
Services
editGenoplot offers a range of services, including:
- Admixture Calculators: Hundreds of calculators for detailed analysis of recent and ancient ancestry.
- Global 25 Calculators: Hundreds of calculators using the Global 25 data platform pioneered by David Wesolowski from the Eurogenes project.
- Monte Carlo Simulations: Tools for creating custom ancestry models using Global 25, as well as multiple other data formats such as HarappaWorld K16 and Eurogenes K36.
- PCA Plots: Visualizations of genetic relationships with regional and global populations.
- Results Sharing and Modeling History: All results generated from any of the services provided by Genoplot can be saved and shared if desired. These saved results are also available in the user's history for review as needed.
- Community Forums: Genoplot provides forums for discussion and support.
Community Support
editGenoplot was founded to provide advanced genetic modeling tools to the personal genomics community. While all core services are free, Genoplot offers subscription plans for users requiring more advanced features and higher usage limits.
Community Features
editThe platform includes article creation and editing capabilities, along with a commenting system to facilitate community discussions and collaboration.
Data Policy
