Elizabeth Ionescu is an American professional tennis player.

Early life

Ionescu was born in Pennsylvania to father Florin and mother Simona, both immigrants from Romania. Her father competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase event at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics and her mother was a member of the Romanian national track team. She began playing tennis at the age of three.^[1]^[2]

Professional career

Ionescu made her professional debut in June 2023 after qualifying for the $25k Cheyenne Mountain Resort Women's Pro Tennis Classic in Colorado Springs.
