Dennis Sempebwa is a Ugandan author, writer and theologian based in US. On the 17th of August 2023 in Kampala, he launched his 17th book titled "Black Like Me."[1][2] He also authored the life story of the Queen Sylvia of Buganda, titled "The Nnaabagereka of Buganda: Queen Sylvia Nagginda Luswata among other books.[3][4]

Biography

After graduating from Trinity College, Newburg, in the USA with an Associate of Theology in 2001, Sempebwa continued his academic journey at Life Christian University.[5] He earned a Bachelor of Theology in 2002, followed by a Master of Arts in Theology in 2003. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Theology in 2004, a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Ministry in 2005, and a Specialized Master of Arts in Counseling in 2007.[2] He would then join United Graduate College in Los Angeles where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities.[6][7]

Career

Sempebwa has held various roles throughout his career, including serving as the President and Co-founder of LIMIT X INC, from January 1987 to March 2004. Following this, he assumed the position of International Dean at the International College Of Excellence in Chicago from March 2004 to August 2007. Over the years, he has also served as the Senior Pastor at Sanctuary of Life Church from September 2008 to November 2011, and as the Director and Co-founder of The Mandate in Shreveport from September 2010 to March 2013.[8][9] Currently, Sempebwa is the CEO and President of Eagle's Wings International a position he has held since August 2007.[10] He served as the President and Dean of Eagle's Wings Bible Institute from August 2007 to December 2018.[5][2] Sempebwa has demonstrated leadership as the Africa Director at Practical Management International in Phoenix from August 2012 to March 2013, and as the President and Founder of The Sahara Wisdom Center in Mission since January 2017.[8] Furthermore, he has been at the helm of Eagle's Wings Press in McKinney, as its President since January 2015.[6] Currently, Sempebwa also holds the positions of Founder and Chancellor at THE 300 in Mission a role he has fulfilled since January 2019.[11]

Family

Sempebwa was born in Mukono, Uganda and holds dual American-Ugandan citizenship. He is married to Ingrid, they have five children. They currently reside in Texas, USA.[8][12]
