Carl Berntsen, a native of Livingston, Montana. He is a graduate from Park High School. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Carroll College, followed by a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.

He began his career in Materials Quality Control at Fisher Sand & Gravel before transitioning to roles as a Land Surveyor and Civil Engineer at TD&H Engineering in Bozeman. Currently, Carl serves as a Mechanical Engineer for NCAT.

Carl, alongside his wife, Rebecca Swandal, and their four young children, Nels, Thora, Willa, and Holter, resides outside Wilsall.  His children are fifth-generation residents of Park County, and his family is deeply connected to the fabric of the community. Notably, Carl's mother, Jann Berntsen, holds a special place in local memory as the last owner/operator of KPRK during the beloved "Swap Shop" era.
