Captain N M Gupta Trophy[1] is a football tournament of Assam. It was started in the year 1962. The latest edition of the invitational football tournament was held in 2024.[2] Many of the prominent football teams from all over India participated in the tournament in different times. Teams from Bangladesh and Bhutan also participated.[3] Once upon a time it was the highest prizemoney football tournament with a cash prize of Rs 5 Lakh for champions [4][5] During the early days of Captain N M Gupta Trophy, neighbouring Karimganj DSA simultaneously organized R.K. Jain Memorial Challenge Shield Football Tournament.[6][7][8] Football Club Raengdai of Manipur won the 2024 tournament of Captain N M Gupta Trophy.[9]
