ClickUp is a project management software company that provides an all-in-one platform to improve workplace efficiency and collaboration. The platform's features include tasks, chat, whiteboards, spreadsheets, and document collaboration on a unified platform.[1] It was founded by Zeb Evans and Alex Yurkowski in 2017.[2]

History
editIn 2017, Zeb Evans and Alex Yurkowski founded ClickUp as an internal tool before being launched publicly as a cloud-based collaboration and productivity software.[3] The company was headquartered in San Francisco before moving to San Diego, California in January 2020.
In June 2020, the company secured $35M in Series A funding. In December 2020, ClickUp closed another $100 million in funding reaching a $1B in valuation.[4]
In 2021, ClickUp raised $400M at a $4B valuation and expanded the platform to Europe, opening an office in Dublin.[5][6] The same year ClickUp opened an Asia Pacific headquarters in Sydney.[7]
In July 2023, ClickUp laid off 10% of its workforce. With a total headcount of about 900 employees, it represents approximately 90 people. [8][9]
Product
editClickUp is a cloud-based project management software with workplace collaboration tools in a single platform. ClickUp tools serve development, human resources, marketing, and business operations. The ClickUp platform is used by organizations such as Spotify, IBM, and Logitech.[citation needed]
ClickUp is SaaS-based and customizable.[10]
Operations
editIn April 2022, ClickUp acquired SlapDash, the developer of a unified search tool for enterprise applications.[11][12]
Also in 2022, ClickUp unveiled a Whiteboard feature, a visual tool for hybrid work environments. ClickUp AI was launched in February 2023, allowing users to summarize and generate content - this was renamed ClickUp Brain in January 2024.[13][14][15]
In September 2024, ClickUp unveiled ClickUp Chat, featuring AI-enhanced communication capabilities that streamline task creation and message management directly within its project management platform.[16]
