Central District (Ardal County)

The Central District of Ardal County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان اردل) is in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Ardal.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, Mashayekh and Naghan Rural Districts, and the city of Naghan, were separated from the district in the establishment of Kiar County.[4]

After the 2011 census, the villages of Dashtak and Kaj were elevated to city status.[5]

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the district's population was 51,960 in 11,163 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 37,187 people in 8,978 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 35,179 inhabitants living in 9,434 households.[2]
