editWhy no category for Torres Strait Islanders? There are more of them than of Indigenous Tasmanians. Should it be called just Torres Strait Islanders? Hugo999 (talk) 01:05, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Inclusion of South Sea Islander descent
editThe category currently say "People of South Sea Islander descent may be included by popular culture". I'd suggest that is not the usual understanding of Indigenous Australian people at all. The usual understanding is that Indigenous Australians only include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, not "kanakas" (apologies for the language) as well. I suggest we remove the reference to people of South Sea Islander descent. Boneymau (talk) 23:08, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
