Hi, can we please establish some clarification on the scope of this category? The current language reads:
This is for shows that have regularly aired their first-run episodes on the regular Cartoon Network schedule. For shows that have only aired on another block see the category for the respective block.
A) I'm not clear if this is only for Cartoon Network USA, or if it also includes international incarnations. This came up recently at Oggy and the Cockroaches, where it seemed (to me) that one editor was assuming the category was for Cartoon Network USA, while another editor thought it also could include international channels. (Oggy may have aired on CN in Asia (and possibly elsewhere).) So if it's for the main US channel, we should say that, or if we want to include shows that don't air in the US, but air on other CN channels, we should say that. B) The information about "block" isn't clear. What constitutes a block? What constitutes "another block"? Can we have an example or clearer language? I'm not sure what is being said. Original programming? Licensed shows that appear on a regular schedule and not as filler? Confusing. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:36, 9 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
@Anythingspossibleforapossible: Since the category was recently changed from Cartoon Network programs --> Cartoon Network original programs, (see this discussion) the scope of the category has gotten more specific. Rather than include every CN program under the sun internationally, we're only interested in original programs created by the network, which I suppose would include original programming in other nations. I've made a minor change to the prose on the Category page, but we should still figure out if the scope is intended to include original CN properties that air internationally, or if we are limiting the scope to US/North American CN properties. Would be interested in feedback from McGeddon, Sillyfolkboy, and Scalhotrod, who all commented at the CfD. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:46, 10 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, must have missed the ping on this one. International Cartoon Network series seems restrictive enough, it'll probably be down to a hundred shows when we've cleaned up the category. (I've been going through it with WP:AWB.) No strong opinions here, though. --McGeddon (talk) 15:19, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
