Category:Architecture Table of Contents

edit

Will it be useful to put some of the articles in Cat:Arch into more specific subcategories to clean up the TOC for this Parent Category?

    • Think we'd need to watch out for 'Chip architecure' (relating to compter design) and all other (mis!)uses of the word architecture. Eg "The architect of his own destruction". We might end up with a load of extraneous pages in the category that way.--Mcginnly | Natter 04:24, 23 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Green building subcategory?

edit

Attention given to Green_building techniques is increasing in a cascading fashion because of concerns about environmental quality and impacts. As these include aspects of solar building perhaps the two could be merged or put together? -- M0llusk 18:15, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Category deletion

edit

How does one get it done? Under "13th-century architecture" is "1240s architecture" which contains 22 building. Under "1240s architecture" are "1247 architecture" and 1248 architecture". Each of these contains a single subsection "Architecture completed in 1248" or something equally ridiculous, because no building commenced in the early 1200s is likely to have remained in the same state for 800 years. In each of these categories was (until I removed them) a single building, a small church in one, and a one-line stub on a castle in the other.

This is a completely unsuitable way of categorising mediaeval buildings. Could somebody please delete any category smaller than "1240s architecture"? And while we are at it. "Architecture of the 1240s" is to be preferred since 1240s is not an adjective.
