Benoný Breki Andrésson (born 3 August 2005) is an Icelandic footballer who plays as a striker for Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur and the Iceland under-21 team.[1] He will join Stockport County on 1 January 2025.

Club career
editEarly career
editBenoný played as a youth player for Breiðablik.[2] As a 15-year-old Benoný played with Blika's 2nd team and scored seven league goals in 11 games with Blikum prior to joining Italian side Bologna in 2021.[3]
Benoný moved back to the Icelandic league to join Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur in 2023.[4] He scored nine league goals in his first season with KR.[5][6] In October 2024, he scored 5 goals in a 7–0 victory against HK in the final round of matches of the 2024 Besta deild karla to set a new league record of 21 goals in a season.[7] That month, he was also voted the most promising player in the league by his fellow players.[8]
Stockport County
editIn December 2024 it was announced that Benoný would join English club Stockport County on 1 January 2025.[9]
International career
editAn Icelandic youth international, he made his debut for the Iceland national under-21 football team on 6 September 2024 against Denmark U21 in a 4–2 win.[10]
