Aspergillus udagawae is a species of fungus in the genus Aspergillus. It is from the Fumigati section.[2] Several fungi from this section produce heat-resistant ascospores, and the isolates from this section are frequently obtained from locations where natural fires have previously occurred.[3] The species was first described in 1995.[1] It has been reported to produce fumagillin, fumigaclavine A and C, fumigatins, fumiquinazolin F or G, helvolic acid, monomethylsulochrin, pyripyropene A, E, trypacidin, tryptoquivalines, and tryptoquivalones.[2]

Growth and morphology
editA. udagawae has been cultivated on both Czapek yeast extract agar (CYA) plates and Malt Extract Agar Oxoid® (MEAOX) plates. The growth morphology of the colonies can be seen in the pictures below.
