Andrija [2] Maksimović (Serbian Cyrillic: Андрија "Меси" Максимовић; born 5 June 2007) is a Serbian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Red Star Belgrade and the Serbia national team.

Early life
editHe was born in 2007 in Serbia. He is a native of Novi Pazar, Serbia.[3]
Club career
editHe started his career with Serbian side Red Star Belgrade. In 2023, he was sent on dual registration to Serbian side Grafičar.[4]
International career
editMaksimović made his debut for the Serbia national team on 12 October 2024 in a UEFA Nations League game against Switzerland. He substituted Aleksandar Mitrović in the 74th minute, as Serbia won 2–0.[5]
Style of play
editHe mainly operates as a midfielder. He is known for his dribbling ability.[6]
Personal life
editHe has two sisters. He is the son of Serbian footballer Mirko Maksimović.[7] He earned the nickname "Messi" as a child because of his resemblance to Lionel Messi with his distinctive long hair.[2]
