Biography

edit

Anastasia Gabrielle Angéline Colosimo is the daughter of Jean-François Colosimo,[3] a publisher, essayist, and professor of Orthodox theology, originally from Avignon with Calabrian roots, a Catholic who converted to Orthodoxy.[4] Her mother is Russian, related to Alexander Solzhenitsyn, who left the Soviet Union for the United States in 1972. Her parents met at Saint Vladimir's Seminary in New York. Holding a Russian passport, she has said she was raised with an anti-Soviet and anti-Putin mindset.[5]

She completed her secondary education at Lycée Henri-IV and defended her doctoral thesis in political science at Sciences Po Paris in 2018. Her dissertation, titled Juger de la religion? : droit, politique et liberté face au blasphème en démocratie (Judging Religion? Law, Politics, and Freedom in the Face of Blasphemy in a Democracy), was supervised by Jean-Marie Donegani.[6][7][8][9][10]

In January 2023, she was appointed Emmanuel Macron's international press advisor, replacing Anne-Sophie Bradelle. She is responsible for European communication. Le Monde describes her as "appreciated by sovereigntist circles and the far-right." She is also a close friend of Sarah Knafo, Éric Zemmour's campaign manager and partner.[11]
