Ana María Picchio (born March 30, 1946, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine actress.[1][2]

She made her debut in 1969 in the film Breve cielo and has made over 50 appearances in film and TV to date.[3] For her role in Breve cielo she won the award for Best Actress at the 6th Moscow International Film Festival.[4] and twice the Silver Condor Award for Best Actress, in 1970 and 1987. In 1974 she was also starring in Mario Benedetti's The Truce (1974 film),submitted to the Academy Awards (the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film) and won a nomination (the first Academy Award nomination in Argentine film history). The film has since gained cult status in Argentina.[5]

She was awarded the Konex Award in 1981 and 1991.[6] She won nine nominations and won the Martín Fierro Awards in 1990 and 2016.[7]
