Synthesis
editNeutralization of ferruginous acid with ammonia solution followed by salting with ethanol:[3]
- H4Fe(CN)6 + 4NH3 → (NH4)4[Fe(CN)6]
Physical properties
editAmmonium hexacyanoferrate(II) forms green crystals.
The compound is well-soluble in water, and does not dissolve in ethanol.
