Alan Crowe (Northern Ireland politician)

Alan Richard Crowe (September 1939 - 17 June 2012) was an Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) politician who served as High Sheriff of Belfast from January 2001 to 2002, and a Belfast City Councillor for the Victoria DEA from 1997 until 2005.

Background

Crowe was first elected onto Belfast City Council in 1997, representing the Victoria District, as an Independent Unionist.[4]

In January 2001, Crowe was made High Sheriff of Belfast. By this time, he had joined the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP), and was subsequently re-elected at the June 2001 local elections.[5]

He was defeated at the 2005 local elections.[6]
