In Indiana, candidates have to gather at least 500 signatures from each congressional district, for a total of 4,500 signatures, to make the primary ballot.[2] Incumbent President Joe Biden was the only candidate that met the requirements.[3] Uncommitted did not appear on the ballot and write-in votes were not allowed. This was the second contest in the Democratic Party where there was one candidate on the ballot since the Alaska caucuses.
