2024 Men's T20 World Cup group stage

The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup group stage was played in four groups of five teams for a total of 40 matches. The top two teams from each group advanced to the Super 8 stage.[1][2]
Matches
editOn 11 June 2024, Australia became the first team to qualify for the Super 8 after beating Namibia at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. England took the second qualification spot from Group B by virtue of their higher run rate after Scotland's defeat against Australia on the last match of the Group B at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground on 15 June 2024.
On 11 June 2024, South Africa became the first team to qualify for the Super 8 after Nepal & Sri Lanka's abandoned match at Central Broward Park. Bangladesh became the second team to qualify from Group D after defeating Nepal at Arnos Vale Stadium on 16 June 2024.
On 12 June 2024, West Indies became the first team to qualify for the Super 8 from Group C after defeating New Zealand at Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Afghanistan became the second team to qualify from Group C after defeating Papua New Guinea at Brian Lara Cricket Academy on 13 June 2024.
On 12 June 2024, India became the first team to qualify for the Super 8 from Group A after beating hosts USA at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Hosts USA became the second team to qualify from Group A after their abandoned match against Ireland at Central Broward Park on 14 June 2024.
India progressed to their pre-seeded position A1, while United States took position A2 which was originally pre-seeded to Pakistan. Australia and England progressed to their pre-seeded positions B2 and B1 respectively. West Indies progressed to their pre-seeded position C2, while Afghanistan took position C1 which was originally pre-seeded to New Zealand. South Africa progressed to their pre-seeded position D1, while Bangladesh took position D2 which was originally pre-seeded to Sri Lanka.[3]
