The 2000 Indonesian census was held on 30 June 2000, and recorded a population of 203 million people within the country. However, a revised figure of 206,264,595 people was the official result, and the population density of the census in 2000 was 108.3 inhabitants/km2. In some provinces, estimates were made, like the notably then-secessionist Aceh, and the census was criticized internationally for significant underreporting. The 2000 census was the last Indonesian census held in the 20th century and the 2nd millennium, the following census held in 2010 was held in the 21st century and the 3rd millennium.
