Delete. There's no smoking gun to say it's definitely infringing, but I agree that it's likely an improperly used professional shot. Note also that wave-rider's contact URL, in his Flickr profile, is to an anonymous-browsing service. —C.Fred (talk) 14:55, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well this was the first time i uploaded an image on wikipedia....i believed that it was free to use but now that suspicions have been raised about the status of the image, i agree that it might not be the work of "wave-rider". however, i believe that decision for deletion be taken after some consideration becos the license does seem to be in order even though the antecedents of the photographer are unknown. anyways i leave it to the best judgement of the administrator or whoever it is to delete the image. Thanx for hearing me out and next time i'll be more careful.Gprince00715:24, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First tagged PD-self them uploader said "it's actually by someone else who doesn't want to give it out". Need comments. Jusjih04:21, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This image, for use in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, is rationaled solely "to illustrate the DVD in question." The DVD, as dicsussed in said article: "...contains widescreen and full screen version of the movie, 5.1 Dolby Digital and Stereo Surround sound selections, the episode 'Bully Boogie', and interviews with the voice actors." This copyrighted image does not "significantly increase readers' understanding of [this] topic, [nor would] its omission would be detrimental to that understanding." Image was uploaded for the Heston Blumenthal article, but is not of Heston Blumenthal, so is now orphaned. (It's not clear who the photo is supposed to be of; either it's someone who the uploader incorrectly believes to be Heston Blumenthal, or it's a private joke. Either way, it has no place in Wikipedia.) McGeddon16:00, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Dump it. We went with a different logo, otherwise apparently the entire Geneva Convention would have fallen apart, and civilization as we know it would have come to an end. :-) - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 18:18, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Should probably not be on Wikipedia or Commons as representative of the M1 Abrams, given that the photo is of a toy version, not the real tank, which is obviously preferable.- Octane16:53, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Keep for the time being as it is a free image, but as the M1 is an Army tank, make a search for U.S. Army photos (public domain) to supersede this image. Guroadrunner (talk) 06:43, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. True though it is that a vector version alone is not reason to delete an image, the intent of that guideline is to avoid deleting a quality raster image in favor of a poorly done vector version. Look at the image in question and think what purpose could be served by keeping both versions or the file. I feel that the vector version is more than adequate to convey the image's subject. My crazy original was only created because someone actually had a non-PD license on the previous one! HOWEVER, the proposed replacement isn't public domain either! Red triangles should be free! ;) -- Sy / (talk)19:59, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
