÷== Canadian Army Tactics School moved to draftspace ==

An article you recently created, Canadian Army Tactics School, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. You still around??

If so can you look at the lead of Government of Canada...as there have been so major changes.... it all sounds right but reads very oddly with its federal separation.--Moxy-  15:31, 19 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Capitalize Chief of the Defence Staff

edit

Thanks for reverting to Chief of the Defence Staff. I see that WildComet has again changed it to read "chief of the Defence Staff" which is incorrect. I have added a disputed tag to the page.

Canada Arms rendition

edit

I recently attempted to revert your edit for the Arms of Canada on the page Armorial of sovereign states, and I erroneously justified this with the claim that you were attempting to use a non-free media image. I would like to apologize for this misunderstanding on my part.

Nonetheless I do think it is up for debate as to whether to alternative that you have added is an improvement on the previous image. I won't attempt to revert this any further, but I have left a note on the talk page explaining my position that this image displays a now-defunct variant of the Arms of Canada. While the previous image I added was not an official rendition, it was faithful to the blazon of the current Arms of Canada, and while I understand your desire to use an official rendition I think it would be misleading to display an image that does not include all the elements of the current version. Heraldic accuracy seems preferable to me over formerly official renditions, though I'm open to alternative views on this.

I also noticed you reverted a separate edit I made which added to link to the article Blazon for context on what is meant by a "heraldic description". I'm going to revert this because I assume this was in error while trying to revert my previous revert, but do let me know if there is an additional reason for this.

Please remember that you have reverted 3 times on Monarchy of Canada in the last 5 hours. As you know, editors are not permitted to revert on any one page more than 3 times in any 24-hour period. DrKay (talk) 20:34, 27 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Trackratte, I know you feel strongly about this issue. But please stop what you're doing. I don't want to see a fellow editor (you) that I've known for years, get blocked. GoodDay (talk) 20:37, 27 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

La Citadelle

edit

The source you added doesn't say anything about the structure being a royal residence or a residence for the King. It says explicitly it is a "vice-regal" residence. See[1]. As you know vice-regal is the adjective for viceroy ie governor general or lieutenant governor. It does not mean king, queen, or royal. Wellington Bay (talk) 19:39, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

The exact quote is "Marquess of Dufferin and Ava, Governor General of Canada 1872-1878, who also established the Citadelle as a vice-regal residence" (emphasis added). Evidently, whichever editor originally added that reference and claimed it referred to the building being the Queen's residence was taking liberties or didn't know what the word "vice-regal" means. Wellington Bay (talk) 19:45, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
The exact quote is on page 119 and says "The Citadelle....has been also an official residence of the Queen in Right of Canada and the Governor General of Canada since 1872...". trackratte (talk) 23:48, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
