School of Creative Arts on Bower Ashton
editThanks for your message about the link to "School of Creative Arts" on the Bower Ashton article. I thought you meant to delete an article so I was going to tell you about the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion process, however I see it was just a redlink so I have removed the link. If the name has changed just edit the Bower Ashton article with the correct name. An article could be created for it if you think there sufficient reliable sources. I have seen you username on several edits to articles related to UWE, all of which seemed appropriate, but can I just ask whether you work for UWE and are doing this as part of your role? If so you need to be aware of the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidance.— Rod talk 18:25, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
-- Hi Rodw, Thanks for your message and the link to the COI. I am an UWE employee however this account is my own and as I’m new to this I thought some of these pages would be a good place to start, especially as some of the factual information is incorrect. I’m really conscious of not contravening the COI policy so wonder what you would suggest for helping correct more significant inaccuracies such as changing the name of the arts and creative industries page, which are still factual inaccuracies but are obviously much more significant.
Any help appreciated. SA27 12:37, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- That's fine just wanted to make sure you are aware - I also work for UWE. It may be worth declaring it on your userpage so that others can be aware. On mine there is a statement that " I work for the University of the West of England Faculty of Health and Life Sciences specialising in Health Informatics and E-learning. I'm also a member of the British Computer Society, Royal College of Nursing, Higher Education Academy, Avon Wildlife Trust, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and various other bodies. All edits I make to wikipedia, wikicommons, etc are my individual contribution and do not represent my employer or any other organisation I am a member of." As long as you are careful about writing with the neutral point of view and provide reliable sources you should be fine to make any changes. If I can help just post on my talk page as I don't generally watchlist other users talk pages for very long.— Rod talk 17:57, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
