Speedy deletion nomination of K S Radhakrishnan

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on K S Radhakrishnan, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. @Pahunkat: I didn't create the article. I moved it into the draftspace and placed a speedy deletion template on the redirect, because the user who did create it tagged it with a AfC submission/misplaced template.--Molandfreak (talk, contribs, email) 12:03, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Molandfreak, no worries - twinkle notified you as the "page creator" because you moved it, this wasn't intended for you. Feel free to remove the notice :-) Pahunkat (talk) 12:21, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

I forgot that the redirect I wanted to make isn't blue and blanked the page when I realized. Sagittarian Milky Way (talk) 01:53, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Sagittarian Milky Way: Don’t worry, mistakes happen. I’m not an admin, so I can’t delete it, but the template is for letting admins know that they can delete it.—Molandfreak (talk, contribs, email) 01:59, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

One of the better pages I've seen in Draft AFC for a while. I'm sure you can create road related pages better than I can, and probably be better able to approve them. I'm glad you are on Wikipedia.Naraht (talk) 14:23, 24 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

I added a type for Jct so you can use that anywhere now. Working on a shield for it, but the logo might not be OK to use.

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Minnesota State Highway 27, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elbow Lake, Minnesota.

Overmountain Victory Trail motor route

edit

I am reversing your edits because: 1) the wikilinks are for the foot trail, and 2) they would be done similar to a scenic route and not inserted in a junction list like a full-blown highway. --WashuOtaku (talk) 01:03, 14 October 2022 (UTC) @Washuotaku: I guess it’s a fair point that there isn’t information within the article about the auto tour route, but putting it in a junction list (if it had that information) is no different from including the Lewis and Clark Trail in U.S. Route 73 article or the Mormon Trail in the U.S. Route 34 in Iowa article. The parameter for the Lewis and Clark Trail has been in the Jct template for years, so it’s been established that if these are signed by the DOT, they’re significant enough to include.—Molandfreak (talk, contribs, email) 01:36, 14 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Interstate 50

edit

Yes, AASHTO approved an I-50 designation for a day, but the FHWA also has to approve the addition of a highway to the system. Unless they also approved I-50 for a day, it's really overstating something that's just a PR stunt for the anniversary celebrations. So it's trivia for the SR 520 article, but not something to include in the lists since it didn't meet the proper approvals. Imzadi 1979  05:16, 23 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I have two more points as to why I think it's not appropriate to list I-50 as more than a PR stun.
WP:USRD/AASHTO doesn't list I-50. The contents of that table for 1967 through 2014 came from AASHTO itself. Back in 2014, they released an Excel file listing all of the decisions taken during that time frame, and they attached scanned copies of the documents in tabs in that Excel file. I extracted the scans and created individual PDFs for upload to Commons (where copyright rules allow), and we created that table on-wiki to index the decisions as they listed them in the file. AASHTO didn't list I-50, so we didn't list I-50.
We expanded that table forward in time as additional meetings were held to catalog the decisions whenever the reports/minutes were released. We expanded that table backwards in time when the big archive was created and we uploaded the rest of the older files to Commons back to 1927, but that core set of years is what AASHTO noted, not us.
The second point against treating I-50 as a real thing is that I can't find any mention of it in contemporaneous news media. No one seemed to think it worth covering at the time. That means it was really just something AASHTO did for their meeting and tour and no more. It's like someone signing a one-day contract with a professional sports team: symbolic, but has no practical effect. In short, I-50 was not part of the Interstate Highway System in any meaningful way. Imzadi 1979  17:10, 23 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
