this is in response to the question you asked me on my page about the Pictou Academy article re: Break Up vs. Prom
The breakup is a prom. It's a final, formal dance. However, it is never referred to as a prom, always as "The breakup". I guess it's a traditional thing. I can see that I might have worded the article in a manner difficult to understand. I'll do my best to revise it sometime. If you'd like to, by all means, improve the article away.
