Thanks for uploading File:Suikoden logo.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

January 2009

edit

I have reverted the bulk of your changes to Storm (Marvel Comics). Please refrain from delinking red links in the future before checking to see if they have any pages inbound (read up on WP:REDLINKS). Also, you are not supposed to delete the citation tags and keep original research without consensus. If something is tagged as unreferenced, it either remains so until a source is found or the whole thing gets taken off. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please reply on your talk page (which I've watchlisted). Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:25, 19 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've read up on redlinks, and that's fine. But there was no reason at all for you to revert the rest of my edits, as they went towards improving the article. So I have restored them, with the exception of the redlinks. —GodhevalT C W 15:05, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes there was reason to undo your changes to the headers (see WP:CMC/X). Let us continue this discussion at Talk:Storm (Marvel Comics)#The problem with Godheval's edits before this revert war gets out of hand. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 16:49, 21 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ender's Game merge

FYI, I centralized the merge discussion at Talk:Ender's Game#Merge to Ender's Game by adding parameters to your tags and removing the other discussion. Flatscan (talk) 04:35, 18 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have a higher resolution of the game logo, however, it's in PNG format. The one you uploaded is in JPG. I just wanna ask if it's ok for me to replace it? Which will mean an upload of a newer file. If I may also ask, if I could move the Licensing and other information you've written? Credit will still belong to you. --JCD (Talk) 12:32, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reliable sources and original research

edit

You've been around Wikipedia long enough you may already know this. Your removal of Tim Wise's Jewish heritage was appropriate, but only becaue it was sourced by YouTube, not considered a reliable source. If someone finds reliable source, it can be properly restored. This issue is not important enough for me to go to the trouble to dig up a source, but ethinicity is perfectly appropriate in a Wikipedia article (although not in the lead) if it is properly source. Additionally, an email you get from Tim Wise is not a legitimate source, as it is original research. Thanks. Ward3001 (talk) 03:32, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is ongoing discussion about the ethnicity issue. Please respect the Wikipedia process and don't unilaterally decide to make changes unless there is a consensus to do so, and certainly not because Wise said to remove it. Neither you nor Wise owns the article. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 02:48, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please update your status with WP:VG

edit

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Orphaned non-free image File:Aatmposter.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Aatmposter.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 06:39, 12 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Non-free rationale for File:Shiningtheholyark.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Shiningtheholyark.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
