Speedy deletion nomination of Sabi Bhinder

edit

Hello Daredevil5911,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Sabi Bhinder for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Nseeb

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nseeb requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  GILO   A&E  17:44, 14 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ethnicity

edit

Do not add ethnicity in the lead of biographies. See WP:ETHNICITY policy. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:04, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey👋 , about this edit, artist is an Indian-punjabi singer. Its in his Spotify profile, Apple music & Itunes. Here in India, there are numerous music industries. So mentioning punjabi, tamil, etc would make profile better Daredevil5911 (talk) 09:23, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Can't mention ethnicity in the lead per WP:ETHNICITY policy. Only nationality is allowed and the field in which they work. This policy is followed in all biography articles, not only Indian. To mention that the person is associated with Punjabi music or cinema predominantly/exclusively, the phrase "associated with Punjabi music and Punjabi cinema". same is done for Tamil, Telugu, etc. See the GA (good article) status article Rajinikanth, where "Indian actor, producer and screenwriter who works predominantly in Tamil cinema" is written. No mention of ethnicity (Marathi) in the lead section. The hope it is clear now. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:31, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ethnicity should generally not be in the lead unless it is relevant to the subject's notability. In india we have notably different artist catagories. 1) Tamil rapper - Arivu 2) Tamil-singapore : Yung raja 3) marathi singer : late Sudhir Phadke 4) Indian-Punjabi : Karan aujla, and all 5) indian born Canadian-Punjabi: Gurinder gill,& all 6) then there is Badshah, who is not Punjabi, but still associated with punjabi music as well as hindi music. =Due to such complex artist catagories ,I made those edit. I hope u understand, Have a Great day 👍 Daredevil5911 (talk) 10:04, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

PS - you can search ( from Wikipedia also) for above mentioned artists for references.thnx Daredevil5911 (talk) 10:08, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia has its own policies. If there are obscure articles that are not following rules, correct them instead of presenting them as part of your reasons. We can't keep track of all these. I've corrected them per policies. I had provided with a high level Rajnikanth article, which we should follow. As for notability, these people are singers in some languages and for that Punjabi, Tamil, or other languages are already mentioned in the lead. Unless they invested for the cause of the ethnicity, religion, identity itself, it is not applied, even then it is subject to WP:CONSENSUS in the article talk page. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 11:09, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Kulbir Jhinger moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Kulbir Jhinger, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Curbon7 (talk) 18:15, 9 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

edit

Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Tarsem Jassar. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 20:58, 10 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

hey you made recent changes in other charted songs. was it contain anything wrong innit? these were the songs which were charted recently. i would say reverse the edits. it will be more good when they will be seen seperate, thanks! WikiUser1211 (talk) 12:02, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

2 tables for charted songs would make song release chronology complex, most of the songs are released recently. AND recent charted charts like billboard global, india songs are already separate. I hope you understand. Thankyou🙏 Daredevil5911 (talk) 15:37, 16 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

  1. Please don't request speedy deletion of a page being discussed for deletion, and then, when it has been deleted, re-create the page. At best that causes a waste of editors' time by making them repeat the deletion discussion, and at worst it may give the impression that you are trying to evade the effect of the deletion discussion. Please don't request speedy deletion of a page being discussed for deletion, and then, when it has been deleted, re-create the page. Thanks for your message. I note that you say you are not him, but nevertheless you seem likely to have a conflict of interest, which you must declare. Please don't write about your friends, relatives or colleagues and read the guidance below:

  • When you write about a person, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the person or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the person claims or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls.
  • Much of your text is unreferenced or sourced to clearly inappropriate sources like Spotify, IMDB and a video link
  • I can't see any evidence, such as awards or chart placing that he meets the notability criteria I've linked above
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • The claim Among the songs "Jugadi Jatt" and Kuwari are prominent isn't supported even my its dubious reference. Mankirat has given many songs to Punjabi cinema.[4], same again, even his own IMDB doesn't say that, you can't just make things up and stick a random ref after them
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Further, the previous Mankirt Aulakh was deleted as non-notable through a deletion discussion, and despite what you say, Mankirt Aulakh (Musician) is almost word-for-word the same, except at an article title that does not conform to WP:MOS or English capitalisation. Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above.

Please do not add or change content, as you did at Diljit Dosanjh discography, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Ss112 09:33, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have already given the citation & sources along with chart positions/ chart history. Daredevil5911 (talk) 09:53, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

This chart position you added will not be verifiable in seven days. You have given the generic URL for the chart and not the specific URL with the chart date in it. If you don't know how to access and supply that, don't add chart positions. Because in less than seven days, it will be useless. You couldn't take issue with my edit, because I supplied a URL with a chart date in it. Oh, and also more unsourced content. The whole page is a mess and you've been the main contributor of the mess. Enough is enough. More unsourced content will see you be reported to an administrator. Ss112 23:52, 26 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Sidhu Moose Wala shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
