Hello there and welcome to my talk page. Please leave new messages at the bottom of this page. Thank you. Note: Any messages will be archived in 4 weeks.
Why would this image be eligible for copyrights? The typeface doesn't look creative or bold enough to pass threshold of originality here. The eye icon is not copyrightable, as evident in the CBS logo page. --George Ho (talk) 03:17, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- The reason why I reinserted the tag is because there is a gloss effect, which IMHO (not sure about what the American courts think), I'm not really sure if it is eligible for copyright. I know the eye icon isn't eligible. C3F2k (Questions, comments, complaints?) 12:36, 21 May 2012 (UTC)

Articles for Creation Appeal
editArticles for Creation is backlogged and needs YOUR help!
Articles for Creation is desperately in need of reviewers! We are looking for urgent help, from experienced editors and administrators alike, to help us clear a record backlog of pending submissions. There is currently a significant backlog of 1806 submissions waiting to be reviewed. These submissions are generally from new editors who have never edited Wikipedia before. A prompt, constructive review of submissions could significantly editor retention.
If the answer to these questions is yes, then please read the reviewing instructions and donate a little of your time to helping tackle the backlog. Click here to review to a random submissionArticle selected by erwin85's random article script on toolserver. We would greatly appreciate your help. Currently, only a small handful of users are reviewing articles. Any help, even if it's just 1 or 2 reviews, would be extremely beneficial. On behalf of the Articles for Creation project, |
Why edit Wikipedia talk:Spoiler/old template?
editI'm curious as to why you edited [1] to restore the visibility of the (useless) most recent version of the template before it was deleted? Anomie⚔ 21:04, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
Because there was no consensus to blank it. I did leave the historical template though. C3F2k (Questions, comments, complaints?) 21:10, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
- I'd hoped you had a better reason than that. But as long as no one tries to
<noinclude>
the historical notice, I don't care enough to argue about it. Anomie⚔ 21:31, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
"google is not a reliable source"
editRegarding this edit - please note that this is a Google Books copy of an issue of Popular Mechanics. PM is indeed a reliable source, and links to it, Popular Science, and other books and magazines that are reliable sources are to be encouraged as adding to the reliable verifiability of Wikipedia, not removed. - The Bushranger One ping only 17:03, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

editHello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Doctor Who image
editPlease do not remove captions from pages on Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted, although you have now excessively reverted to restore it. Please explain why you have repeatedly deleted the image captions relating to an image you are seeking to have deleted? There is no valid rationale for doing so, and such an action only impairs the effectiveness of the image. I would ask that you self-revert your actions. Thank you. ' Ckatzchatspy 20:23, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Because that was the instructions at Template:Ffd. C3F2k (Questions, comments, complaints?) 20:24, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, I see your error. The instructions direct you to add the ffd template, not to strip out the caption. Please restore the caption ASAP or acknowledge here so that I can do it. --Ckatzchatspy 20:27, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Done. C3F2k (Questions, comments, complaints?) 20:30, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Imdb templates
editC3,
Please do not make any redirects or merges of the Imdb template while the discussion is ongoing. I explicitly said I was only ok with a merge if there was a way to still show the imdb text, and I see no evidence that you did that (to be fair, I don't know much about template making, but the documentation said nothing). And just because I'm okay, doesn't mean other users are. Please wait for the discussion to take its course. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 21:36, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
Some of this article's listed sources may not be reliable. It includes attribution to IMDb, which may not be a reliable source for information. |
Proof. C3F2k (Questions, comments, complaints?) 21:38, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
So, then, do the 4,000 articles that previously used the imdb template include this text, or did you just redirect it, therefore losing this important information? Also, just because I'm okay with it (assuming that it works and no information is lost), doesn't mean other users will be okay with it, so you need to wait until discussion is completed. D O N D E groovily Talk to me 21:56, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
I would just say to wait until the discussion is over before we merge it. C3F2k (Questions, comments, complaints?) 21:58, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Minecraft netherscreenshot2 - from Commons.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
