2011 Braves page

edit

What aspect of the formatting are you doing differently and how do you find the link to the simpler box score? Clinevol98 (talk) 14:10, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

You are really close to getting it right, just need a few tweaks. First, at the top of each month's section, the monthly record is shown. After each game, this needs to be updated. Secondly, you have to use en dashes for all dashed areas. To make it simple for you (it's what I do), just copy the en dash from a previous day and paste it into all the correct spots on the day that you are updating. Finally, up until the beginning of this season, the box score link format that I am using for that log was the standard page. Now, they have redesigned the site and the generic box score is much more complicated and will load slowly for many users. To change the link, copy the previous day's link and just change the date. For changes between series, just study the way the links appear on previous days to discover the pattern. I wish there were an easier way to do this but like I said, since the redesign I just cannot find a pathway from MLB.com to the box score page. If you have any further questions on this aspect, feel free to ask me.
I would also like to add that the use of the "Show Preview" function is highly encouraged when updating the game log. Mistakes are almost inevitable and to prevent clutter on the "View History" page, try to only submit once you believe everything is correct. Bbqsauce13 (talk) 21:32, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
EDIT: After doing some investigating, I have found the way to get to the appropriate box score page. From the homepage (MLB.com), click on the Scoreboard tab at the top of the page. Find the Braves' game and click on the 'Box' link that should be there. This still takes you to the simple page. Bbqsauce13 (talk) 21:37, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

1995 Braves Season

edit

I am working on 1995 Atlanta Braves season and noticed that you're interested in working on Braves-related articles. Since the 1995 season is listed as high-importance and it is/was not in very good shape, I decided to try to fix it. If you could, or want, to help, I'd appreciate it. Let me know what you can do. I've been copying the setup of 2008 Philadelphia Phillies season. InTheAM (talk) 00:03, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your efforts in trying to improve some of these articles. I have recently created WikiProject Atlanta Braves with the hopes that some of these Braves-related articles can be improved (if interested, you can add your name here). As things stand, the overall quality certainly isn't that great. I have been and will be concentrating on improving the season articles between 2008 and 2011 for this offseason but I can certainly help you with the 1995 season (a very important one indeed). I think you've done a good job so far. I'll begin working on a game log for it and see what else I can do. Thanks again for the help. Bbqsauce13 (talk) 03:03, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

GTA V

edit

I wouldn't have reverted the version you put up. I reverted this version by another user because it only had a single line of text, broken code etc. I've fixed the Fair Use Rationale on the GTA V logo BTW, it needs a separate Fair Use Rationale for each page that its used on. - X201 (talk) 07:47, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Makes perfect sense. Also, thanks for the help cleaning up the page in recent hours. I did the best I could to get it started with a solid framework. Bbqsauce13 (talk) 12:14, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nationality

edit

I've got my eye on it. Standard convention as far as I understand it, is to not express the nationality of the game in the game article, due to differences between developer and publisher nationality etc (not to mention the fact that it would be a pain in the backside to list everyone who had a finger in the Manhunt 2 pie). The nationality aspect can, and should, be stated on the developer and publisher articles individually. Don't worry over it. If needs be, escalate it to WP:VG if the GTA V talk gets too big or needs further input. - X201 (talk) 15:00, 21 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

2012 Braves season

edit

Thanks for the compliment on the table. I really wanted a way of mentioning all of the players that came and went since last season ended but I didn't want to drag it out in writing. I see graphics with additions/subtractions on MLB Network when breaking down teams and thought the table would be the best idea.

BTW. I like the Braves chances this year. They've got plenty of quality starting pitching, the best bullpen in baseball, a very deep bench with Hinske, Diaz, and Jack Wilson. The biggest concern is the offense from the starting lineup. I think the more established hitting coach, Greg Walker, will bring them back up to par. Heyward and Prado being able to bounce back will be the key to the Braves success. Of course, the NL East is gonna be tough. Every team in the division except the Mets could win the division. We'll find out by March 1 whether a second wild card team is gonna be added in 2012 or 2013. That could be a factor of whether the Braves are playoff bound this year being one of the 2 WC teams. -BravesInsider13

I had one more thought about the table. In my opinion, any player added before opening day during Spring Training would still be considered offseason transaction and put on the table as an offseason transaction. Just a thought. What do you think? - BravesInsider13

There probably should be some mention of Kawakami on the 2012 page. He was on payroll in 2011 but didn't play in MLB. But his contract coming off the books gave the Braves the extra money to afford raises to arbitration players. - BravesInsider13 —Preceding undated comment added 15:16, 8 February 2012 (UTC).Reply
