hi, if time permits, please do help me out on getting started. in the mean time ill try to start writing one article that have in mind. Wikipdya (talk) 04:40, 7 March 2009 (UTC)wikipdya
hey, good to hear from you. i was wondering, is this how i reply to your conversations? thanks for the adoption. let me tell you what all i have in mind. 1. i made an account because i wanted to write about an educational process of which i am a part. it is called Nirmaan which is a word in Marathi which is my mother tongue. however after reading about the dos and donts, i realize that wiki is not the place for this kind of writing. 2. i wish to bring certain information into Marathi. i am studying a little bit about stars and wish to put up the information into wiki marathi
whats ur take?
Freecorder categories
Please look at the articles already in a category before deciding to use that category for an article. More generally, looking at articles similar to yours is a quick way to get started. Categories are not keywords for searches; they organize the articles in a topic into a tree, detail articles at the leaves, general articles at the top. Category computing is the top of the computing tree; it has only two articles (besides yours), both that belong there. Category "Computer Programs" doesn't exist - that's why it's in red. Please revert your last edit (look at history, click undo). thanks, 69.106.246.15 (talk) 18:59, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
To do
You seem to have used a template that results in your user page being categorized as "To do". To the best of my knowledge, user pages are not expected to be categorized. 69.106.246.15 (talk) 19:07, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Adoption
Yes I would be interested in adoption.
My interests in wikipedia are simple.
I want to be able to effectively help with counter-vandalism , article clean-ups (correctly formatting a poorly formatted but otherwise good articles)and occasionally contribute to articles that interest me such as biology, psychology, anime/manga & computers.
I would also like to learn better formatting techniques so I can improve the appearance of articles I edit.

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but one or more redirects you created, such as with Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Vr, have been considered disruptive and/or malicious, and have been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Closed SPI cases LINK to their Archive. Redirecting to the archive creates havoc. Mayalld (talk) 07:22, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- Note: False warning, it was not malicious at all. This template is for purely malicious redirects. That is not spam, and is not a "shocker", as it says in the page linked above. That is not disruptive at all. Nowhere does it say those are malicious. α§ʈάt̪íňέ-210 discovered elements ∞ what am I? 13:06, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- The template says "disruptive and/or malicious". The page as it was before you interfered with it contained a perfectly good link to the archive (as do all case pages that have been closed). Changing it to a redirect caused the bot to relist the case, and if left unfixed would have prevented anybody filing future cases under this name. Your edit was clearly disruptive. Please don't do it again. Mayalld (talk) 13:44, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Your edit notice
I've reverted this change to your editnotice; please don't restore it. It's a blatant simulation of the Wikimedia interface, is impersonating an administrator, and there's no legitimate reason for it to be there. If you are, as you imply, a long-term user under another name, then you've been here long enough to know better. – iridescent 07:44, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- I've also unilaterally deleted User:Astatine-210/editnotice, as there's no legitimate version to restore. This is technically an out-of-process deletion, but MFDing it would cause the MFD notice to appear as part of your edit notice itself; if you really insist, I'll restore it and set up an MFD discussion so we can do this the long way. – iridescent 08:04, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for restoring the "Digital audio recording" category. Category:Computing and the recently recently added Category:Software need to be removed.
Category:Digital audio recording is a subcat of Category:Audio software is a subcat of Category:Multimedia software is a subcat of Category:Application software is a subcat of Category:Software is a subcat of Computing. Thus Freecorder categorized "Digital audio recording" is in the Software and Computing category trees; but - a detail article - it doesn't belong at the top of those trees.

Hi. It's generally considered poor form to nominate someone else for rollback; if they wish to seek the tool, they can file a request for themselves. Just something to keep in mind. Regards, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 13:49, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

DYK
Hi Astatine-210, I see you've been having trouble using the DYK nominations template. The correct way is to fill in the "hook" as you are nominating, not later, as described in the message above the DYK edit window and in the instructions located at Template:NewDYKnomination. For example, your most recent nomination should be formatted like this:
{{subst:NewDYKnom | hook=...that '''[[Vukovo]]''' is considered one of the oldest settlements in the municipality because of the discovered archaeological remains in the surroundings of it - an antique settlement, necropolis and a fortress from the [[Late Antiquity]]? | article=Vukovo | author=Gligan | nominator=Astatine-210 | status=new}}
Also notice that a) the article itself should be bolded and linked within the hook; b) for the article creator and yourself, you should give the actual username, not a signature. Using a signature breaks the formatting in the template.
Also, if you are going to continue nominating articles, please make sure to familiarize yourself with the DYK rules for which articles can qualify. The last two articles you nominated do not meet the length requirements and do not have sufficient references; we can avoid these problems in the future if you're familiar with the requirements.
Thank you, rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 14:32, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Rollback Rq

Response to your comment on my page:
- Wow. 2 thinks of no apparent notability. I am speedying it. α§ʈάt̪íňέ-210 discovered elements ∞ what am I? 12:37, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
No one besides yourself thinks that there's no notability/context here. Stop re-nominating something for speedy deletion after it's been declined. If you want to perpetuate your disruption, feel free to nominate it at WP:AFD, but I suggest that you desist from beating this dead horse. Another nomination for speedy deletion of this article by you will earn you a block. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 17:02, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Go ahead if you want to perpetuate your disruption. I think you'll earn yourself a block or ban for WP:POINT however, since you won't even see if the community thinks its worthy of deletion through WP:AFD. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 20:43, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
- Astatine, it would be inappropriate to file an RfC over a single article if you haven't done an AfD. The typical workflow is take something to AfD if the speedy is declined and you still think it should be deleted. AfD is basically RfC specifically made for deletion discussions. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 21:08, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Response
See WP:POINT. Re-tagging an article for speedy deletion after it has been declined, is just the sort of disruption that we don't need. If you want to continue the escalation, the consequences escalate. Don't you have a beef about the other editor who declined your speedy request as well? You haven't even tried to get the article deleted in the normal ways, but want to institute drama by escalating where you haven't even followed the basic steps to see if the community agrees with you that the article should indeed be deleted. This sort of disruption is what gets people blocked or banned. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 23:35, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
