The Church of Blessed John of Kronstadt (Russian: Храм праведного Иоанна Кронштадского в Жулебине Khram Pravednovo Ioanna Kronshtadskovo v Zhulebine) is a wooden church located in Zhulebino, Vykhino-Zhulebino, in the Sout-Eastern Okrug of Moscow.
History
editThe population of the Moscow Zhulebino district (now Vykhino-Zhulebino District) appealed in 1996 a petition to the Patriarch Alexy II to perform a benediction for the establishment of a parish near Zhulebino, of elected executive boards, the Audit Commission, the adoption of the Charter and blessings to a planned church. During benediction by the Patriarch, protoiereus Leonid Roldugin questioned whether the new church should be dedicated to Xenia of Saint Petersburg or John of Kronstadt, but the decision went in favour of the latter.
On 28 May 1997, subprefect of the South-Eastern Administrative Okrug, D. V. Chvilev, appealed to the Patriarch with an excuse to name Ioann Farkov a priest during the building work of the church. On 4 June, the area and the crucifix were blessed.[1]
