Ray Beckerman is an attorney in New York City, practicing at Ray Beckerman, PC. He was admitted to the bar on January 17, 1979, and has served primarily as a commercial litigation attorney, beginning his career with Phillips, Nizer, Benjamin, Krim & Ballon.
In addition to his legal work, he writes various blogs: Ray's 2.0, which discusses social media, Ohio Election Fraud (formerly "Fairness"), which deals with the 2004 presidential litigation in Ohio, and Recording Industry vs. The People, the subject of which is the campaign of digital online copyright infringement lawsuits commenced by the RIAA against individual consumers starting in 2003. He is active on Twitter as RayBeckerman and on Slashdot as NewYorkCountryLawyer.
He is a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Copyright Law Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, having previously served on that association's Information Technology Law and Entertainment Law committees.
