Aero mechanical conveyor

Aero mechanical conveyor systems are mostly used to convey materials in form of granules. An aero mechanical conveyor uses a tubular design through which the material is transported. Inside the tube runs a wire rope with evenly mounted discs which travel with a linear speed creating an airstream. Once the material is fed into the system, the stream of air fluidizes and, subsequently, transports the materials towards the outlet with a centrifugal force.

These types of conveyors are suitable for conveying powders and granulates with various densities and particle sizes, and are mostly used in seed processing, feed, food, chemicals, or plastics industry.[1]

Aero mechanical conveyors are frequently used as an alternative solution to pneumatic conveying systems. The approximate speed of the material in th tube is 20 cu ft/min with a 3-hp motor, depending on bulk density of the conveyed material. Depending on the design, the cost of the mechanical conveyor can be one third of the price for a pneumatic conveyor for the same output.[2]
