A bachelor is an unmarried man, from the old French word "bachelor." (The) Bachelor may also refer to:
- the title of anyone of any gender or marital status who holds a bachelor's degree
"Confirmed Bachelor" was a standard euphemism for a homosexual commonly used in U.K. obituaries and publications, especially before 1967, while homosexuality was criminal and its imputation to a living man was unprintable and criminally libellous. The phrase is still in use ironically, for example in satirical magazines.
