Protagonist is not called Mr. Green
editThe protagonist is not called Mr. Green in the narrative part of the novel. Throughout the whole narrative he is referred to as 'he', 'him' or 'his' but never by a particular name. Someone calls him 'Green', someone he doesn’t know, and he doesn’t correct them. The reader has no reason to believe that the man is called Green!
The plot summary is very good, and whomever wrote it should be thanked, but it does give the impression(!) that the protagonist is called Green, which is not correct. --DelftUser 13:30, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- I've checked a Wolfe mailing list and it seems that the protagonist is called Green!
- The hero's last name is Green. His first name is either Billy or Adam - there's evidence for both. Which one? [1]
- Now, I am not sure of anything and I've read this book three times! --DelftUser 13:43, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
