--Kzooman 15:51, 31 July 2007 (UTC)This page asserts it's importance to the subject matter. Read the first paragraph. The content suports the assertion. Last time I wrote a less thourough article about this band it was deleted without explaination. I wrote the administrator who gave no explaination. Read it. I don't need to re-write the whole thing here. The article asserts it's importance.--Libertyguy 05:05, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the tag and will carefully review the helpful suggestions on my user page. It looks like the suggestions address how some parts of the article reference information rather than denying the notability of the subject manner. To clarify my point: The band is notable, primarily by the criteria that members of the band have gone on to do notable work including the production of multiple recordings on more than one record label.--Libertyguy 05:24, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deletion Prod Removed

edit

I have removed the deletion template because the article's subject matter met with wikipedia standards for subject, as the above user noted. It complys with Notability guideline (Criteria for musicians and ensembles #6): "Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable..." Nevertheless, there is much work to be done as far as the structure of the article itself. I found, and removed, a couple of redundant links. I have modified the heading structure.--Kzooman 15:51, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikify tag

edit

I noticed you deleted my tags once again- according to Wiki policy you really shouldn't do that. When creating an article you should begin it either in your sandbox or on your own computer, that way when you create the page it doesnt automatically get deleted. Both of those pages still seem non-notable, but just because I do not know who they are doesn't mean they aren't. They still may qualify for deletion under WP:NN. I have a wikify tag on them based on the fact that you have MANY external links throughout both articles, which does not comply to wiki standards. Please read WP:CITE to view the proper way to cite and reference your article. Where your external links seem to be appears that you were trying to cite, so it should be relatively easy to change those external links into footnotes, therefore wikifying the article. -YeLLeY511 13:54, 31 July 2007 (UTC) This Wikify tag should definitely remain until substantial editing is performed. If it were not already there, I would include a cleanup tag. Citations could be formatted in a manner that is more pleasing to the eye. In some places the author has included so many references that it seems superfluous.--Kzooman 15:51, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think I have done enough Wikifying (is that a word). I will keep the template there a little longer to see if anyone wishes to add to it.--Libertyguy 03:39, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikified

edit

IMHO this has been wikified to meet Wikipedia's quality standards.--Kzooman 23:39, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Since “WikiProject: Spam” has tagged “purevolume.com” as probable spam-links, I have removed its links from this article, however the links appeared to be in appropriate context and pertained directly to “Spite.” I will replace the links if, after clarification from “WikiProject: Spam” it becomes clear that removal was not required. --208.39.169.123 (talk) 18:47, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

New Section: The Punk Rock band called Spite

edit

There is a serious issue that must be resolved concerning this new section to the article, which Plumberpete originally titled "The Punk Rock band called Spite." The policy of Wikipedia is to only publish sourced content. This entire section is unsourced so it’s removal is appropriate. I have, however, left it for now to give Plumberpete a reasonable opportunity to include citations.

Other less severe issues warranted a couple other edits. Use of the word “The” in the title only served to imply that the British band was unique in having that name; an assertion that sourced material in other sections shows to be incorrect. The word use could also be regarded as being promotional which is inconsistent with NPOV. The assertion that the British band was not aware of the Kalamazoo, Michigan band is not really supportable. If appropriate sources exist, it would be appropriate to say, “members of this band say they did not know about the Kalamazoo band.” --Libertyguy (talk) 04:28, 9 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I see several edits by Plumberpete since this section was posted, but the section remains unsourced except for clarifying information about the 1983 Kalamazoo band Spite. This sourced information only serves to clarify unsourced material and serves no purpose without it. Nothing about the Britsh band is sourced. If this remains unsourced, this section will need to be removed.--Kzooman —Preceding undated comment added 20:44, 20 January 2012 (UTC).Reply
