Thanks User:Viewmont Viking! - A "situation analysis" is used in sectors other than business. The Wikipedia article should reflect this. Currently, the Wikipedia page only gives the definition of a situation analysis for business. In the field of nature conservation, a situation analysis is an assessment that identifies and weighs the key challenges affecting primary interests in a place or associated with a problem, including the political, socioeconomic, institutional, and ecological factors driving change, that helps identify opportunities for conservation intervention.

I propose that the article include reference to these other fields where situation analysis is applied and provide the (slightly) different definitions in each context.

I would also point out that situation analysis in other fields is often called "situational" analysis, especially in political science and sociology. It is also known as "context" analysis in business - there's already a very detailed article on Context Analysis that this article should be linked to/merged with: https://en.wiki.x.io/wiki/Context_analysis (but again this article is skewed to the business application of situation analyses rather than explaining its diverse applications and divergent methodologies). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.71.0.170 (talk) 12:44, 21 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
