State atheism needs a reassessment of its Importance level, as it has little to do with atheism and is instead an article about anti-theist/anti-religious actions of governments.

All the examples are only pertinent to homosexuality. No broad "LGBT" advocacy. One of the two sources explicitly pertains to his gay following and beliefs about homophobia and gay men, and the other references his advocacy for same-sex marriage equality. Zanahary (talk) 01:36, 6 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
A quick search through WP for "gay advocacy" will show that lots and lots of people call it that. But okay, I've changed it to "gay rights advocacy". Zanahary (talk) 03:55, 10 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I came here to make the same correction as Zanahary. Seth MacFarlane is famously wildly transphobic, to the point that inaccurately labeling his gay-rights comments as "LGBT Advocacy" comes across as deliberate misinformation. Ignoring the hysteria of referring to "gay advocacy" as a "slur", a quick search reveals the phrase "Gay Rights Advocacy" (Zanahary's recent edit, and my vote for best phrasing) is very well precedented on WP, including in section titles (what is being discussed here). The edit logs suggest Zaathras isn't going to quit fighting this edit any time soon, but given "Gay Rights Advocacy" is now the consensus view on this page, and given he has decided not to engage in good-faith discussion ("No. Zaathras (talk) 02:26, 11 November 2023 (UTC)"), I'd encourage him to desist. Pending time for further constructive discussion on this page, I will go ahead and make the edit; From "LGBT Advocacy" to "Gay Rights Advocacy". (Also, please do not call other WP editors "daft") GorfTab (talk) 01:14, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
It seems to me that the section on MacFarlane's transphobia should be restored, perhaps with better sources? It looks like there was a section, but it was removed in the 23:33, 13 September 2023 edits. It also seems like maybe MacFarlane's transphobia has dulled somewhat in recent years (see, e.g., this article), but not entirely (e.g., this article). Having a section with only same-sex rights advocacy while ignoring MacFarlane's definite anti-trans expressions over the years could lead readers to think that he's generally pro-LGBT. Indeed, as this topic shows, some people do seem to think he's generally pro-LGBT, when in fact that positivity is much narrower. 2401:E180:8890:EBEE:F57B:9347:B82C:A237 (talk) 06:17, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your Advocate source is not BLP-worthy, as it's a review of a show MacFarlane heads. The next source is also not important enough for this article; maybe would be good for the Family Guy article. Also, jokes that people find offensive in his shows are not related to his off-TV activism and sincere advocacy. Zanahary (talk) 07:17, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Found source that confirms when Family Guy started airing again after the writer's strike ended in Feb 12th, 2008
Made an account just for this, don't ask I was incredibly bored and found that a citation was missing for this section:
MacFarlane participated in the strike to support the writers, and Fox aired three Family Guy episodes without his permission. The strike ended on February 12, 2008,[49] and the series resumed airing regularly, beginning with "Back to the Woods".[citation needed]
My acocunt is new, and I'll probably forget about this so I'm just adding this to the talk section so somebody else might add it to the article. Here is the source, self-proclaimed to be "the most comprehensive compilation of TV information". The source shows that Fox began airing Family Guy again on the 17th of February, and the episode that was aired was in fact "Back to the Woods". FinnishMob (talk) 18:09, 24 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
