Reliable source for Randy's passing

I have a friend that knew Randy and confirmed he spoke to his wife and he passed away. Benbowers3 (talk) 01:43, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
Can the article from Saving Country Music be added then? MikaelaArsenault (talk) 08:33, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
- @MikaelaArsenault: @Benbowers3: Saving Country Music has been deemed an unreliable source, as it is self-published by one person with no editorial oversight, and has a history of polemic content, bias, and misinformation. Word of mouth cannot be used as a source either, as there is no way for an average editor or viewer to take someone at their word. Facebook is not a reliable source either, especially not if it's just a personal account and not a verified one. This is not to say I doubt the veracity of anyone saying Barlow died; we just need an independent source with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy that another party can verify, especially in a time when death hoaxes run rampant on the Internet. I'm working to see what can be done. Maybe someone could procure a newspaper obituary for him if one exists? Ten Pound Hammer • (What did I screw up now?) 18:02, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
