User:Jgarboden/Raleigh DeGeer Amyx → Raleigh DeGeer Amyx — I would like to publish this page, as I have finished an interview with this amazing individual. Jgarboden (talk) 20:42, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- If you have been interviewing the subject, it is likely that the article contains original research. For example, you have provided no verifiable evidence to prove that Amyx worked for the FBI. StAnselm (talk) 22:18, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you, I will add verification. Are there any other issues that need to be addressed? I have added a few additional footnotes and a membership section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jgarboden (talk • contribs) 13:50, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

citation needed
editthere are several items in which the work I mentioned can be linked to an external picture. would these met the criteria of a citation or do I need to find an 3rd party that references the face? Jgarboden (talk) 13:33, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- That's right; third-party reference sources are necessary. Simply linking to the images inline is not appropriate. --DAJF (talk) 23:29, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

I have added a membership section several times, to list the organizations that he is actively involved with. I have had them footnoted, as to where further information could be found. yet the are removed. What would be the proper way to list these organizations that he is a member of?Jgarboden (talk) 12:52, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
- As above, if you can include verifiable third-party reference sources, there will be no problem. Simply including links to organizations which do not verify the membership of the subject, frankly, is not acceptable. If you haven't already, you should definitely read through the guidelines at Wikipedia:Verifiability regarding the need for verifying claims made in Wikipedia articles that are biographies of living persons. --DAJF (talk) 13:35, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Wealth Perspectives", JULY 2010/
editI can't figure out what this is or why it should be used in the article. I've raised the issue at WP:RSN#Wealth Perspectives", JULY 2010 if anyone wants to defined it as a WP:RS. Dougweller (talk) 07:51, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
COI Check, Cleanup Notes
editAlright, well, I went through and did a cleanup, moving sections around and cutting puffery. As far as I can tell the COI folks didn't leave any notable omissions. None of the accessible references mentioned a history of Amyx committing treason or eating babies, at least.
Here's a big question though; I felt rather silly leaving in such facts as "While in the Senate Office with Kennedy, Amyx asked him to inscribe and sign a photograph, to which he obliged." If this was the entry for just a pure FBI agent, I would have deleted it on the grounds that it seemed really irrelevant and trivial. But I imagine that within the context of the collecting subculture, it would be useful as it shows how his hobby began to unfold in the first place? Any thoughts on this? Basically I cleaned up the prose and fact checked, but I don't feel comfortable drawing the line on which facts are encyclopedically relevant.
- about COI problems
I'd say its as neutral as it can get for the time being, so I'm removing the COI tag. If users Jgarboden or Raw4815 make any significant contributions, though, it may need to be rechecked for neutrality.
note to COI users: your opinion and input on the page is welcomed! However, I would recommend you avoid significantly editing the entry yourselves, maybe find some other topics to work on for awhile. If you do make any edits on the Amyx page, please leave explanations here on the talk page. Also, please be aware that Wikipedia is not for resumes, and that detailed lists of collections are best suited for personal websites. Peace, Sloggerbum (talk) 06:23, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
