Boundaries
editIs there an official source for the boundaries described in this article? The area between Royal and 635, west of Preston or Inwood at least, isn't considered Preston Hollow by anyone I know. This would be the area served by W. T. White HS (as opposed to the Hillcrest HS attendance zone). Using Royal as the northern cutoff would keep Perot's house inside the boundary; don't know about the other famous residents. Lawikitejana 10:13, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Update: The newest city street signs have little subdivision indicators above them, and they are most definitely all EAST of Preston. Lawikitejana (talk) 04:23, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Years later, I found reliable sources that describe the boundaries. There are neighborhoods west of Preston that are Preston Hollow too. WhisperToMe (talk) 08:49, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Images in text?
editHas it become a standard to have the little images for street and highway signs right there in the text? That's really distracting. Joyous! | Talk 21:56, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- No.. typically only in lists. I think I was just bored.. will remove. -- drumguy8800 C T 22:36, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
"Whites Only" Neighborhood?
editSeems like a notable mention that within one of the neighborhood's gated communities, existed a covenant should be exclusively white with the exception of servants till 2000. Does the neighborhood have a documented history of racism beyond the elementary school scandal? --65.201.56.133 (talk) 18:34, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- I found an article from CBS11 news (a local channel) that talked it, " Until the year 2000, the neighborhood association's covenant said only white people could live there—unless they were servants." http://cbs11tv.com/local/bush.new.house.2.880810.html Cl191 (talk) 22:27, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- Not sure how notable it is. Many older neighborhoods across the country carry such restrictions for race, color, religion and/or national origin. The restrictions became moot with the passage of the Equal Housing laws, as I recall. Some neighborhoods have amended their restrictions, but some have not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.46.11.162 (talk) 15:44, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

The boundaries need to be clearly defined.. also the only real information beyond generalities is the education thing. There needs to be a history section as well. drumguy8800 C T 09:11, 3 November 2006 (UTC) |
