Was there a retconned alternate secret identity?
editI read a long time ago, that instead of Pamela Isley her civilian name was originally Penolope Ivy and that this was mentioned in Detective Comics # 566. However I can't find that issue and cannot confirm it myself. Can anyone else?--69.107.93.26 (talk) 10:34, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, you are correct. It was on page 13 of Detective Comics 566. I have edited the article to reflect this. (Lc56 (talk) 19:13, 9 January 2018 (UTC))
Mentions of Poison Ivy's relationships in the lede
editShould Poison Ivy's relationships with Catwoman and Harley Quinn be mentioned in the lede? Per MOS:LEDE, Whether or not these relationships should be mentioned depend on how significant they are to Poison Ivy, according to reliable sources. Whether Catwoman's article mentions it or not is irrelevant as Catwoman is not Poison Ivy, and what may be considered significant to one character may not be considered significant to another, especially when comparing a relatively major character to a more minor one. E.g. Batman's relationship with Poison Ivy is insignificant to Batman's character (and thus no mention of her in his article' lede), while it is significant to Poison Ivy's character (and thus mentioned in her article's lede). - I do think Ivy's relationships with Catwoman and Harley Quinn should be mentioned in the lede, or at least her relationship with Harley Quinn. A quick google search of recent Poison Ivy-related articles (e.g. 1, 2, 3) has writers almost always pointing out her relationship ("best friend"/"girlfriend" etc) with Quinn, indicating that it is a significant aspect of her character according to secondary sources. More information on ivy's releationship with bats
editIs it really necessary for the section about her relationships/teammates to be excessively detailed? Its need to be re-evaluated. Plus, I have added a link for sources about her releationship with bats on the talk page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.100.50 (talk) 05:26, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

the page looks like it could do with restarting from scratch anyway! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.146.100.50 (talk) 05:27, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
- Please note that fan-made sites, such as the one you've cited, are not considered reliable sources on Wikipedia. I'm sure there are much better sources for Poison Ivy and Batman out there. Bennv3771 (talk) 05:36, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
Infobox image change
editDrRC: If you'd read my edit summary, you would have seen that I did indeed have a reason for changing the infobox image -- the current one does not meet the standards laid out in WP:CMOS#BOXIMAGE particularly in that the old image A) had a background and B) depicted the character in a contorted position. It's disingenuous to claim there was "no reason" for the change when I clearly gave one in the edit summary. Etzedek24 (I'll talk at ya) (Check my track record)
- Etzedek24: If you're going to submit an edited image, please have it done properly. The one that you uploaded looked like a messy photoshopped image, which doesn't belong in the infobox. Furthermore, you uploaded an image from the New 52 featuring a look that was short-lived, and does not represent one of the character's more recognizable appearances, per WP:CMOS#BOXIMAGE. The current image represents the DC Universe look of the character, which is representative of her look throughout the years. In fact, the character is wearing the very outfit from her 1966 debut in Batman #181. She is not contorted in a way that one cannot make out her look or costume, nor is she obscured by shadows. Many infobox images have backgrounds, and they're removed if it can be done in a suitable manner that does not compromise the image quality. I have no problem with changing the infobox image, but if you want to do so, propose it here with an image that's better suited. DrRC (talk) 19:35, 23 November 2019 (UTC)

Capitalization and disambiguation
editIs this not the primary topic for “Poison Ivy” (with a capital I)? Why does Poison Ivy (capital I, the proper name) redirect to Poison ivy (lowercase i, the common noun)? —96.8.24.95 (talk) 00:21, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
