Education
edit"Maryhill did house Glasgow's and indeed Scotland's first ever Gaelic language primary schools, where children are taught in the Scottish Gaelic Language only. This is no longer true, as the old Woodside Secondary School, in the Anderston area now houses a combined nursery, primary education and secondary education, Gaelic school."
How does the opening of a school elsewhere in the city, change the (uncited) fact that Maryhill had the first? Skinsmoke (talk) 04:30, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Proposed merge with Botany, Glasgow
editI propose merging Botany, Glasgow into Maryhill. The Botany article describes a fairly obscure sub-area within Maryhill, is short and lacking in sources. The information can be comfortably covered in the latter article. Jellyman (talk) 12:41, 12 September 2017 (UTC)
I agree, these should be Merged. Templar216 (talk) 12:19, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
Queen's Cross, Maryhill distinct from area if same name in Aberdeen.
editThere are Two areas both called Queen's Cross (one in Maryhill, Glasgow G20) and a Queen's Cross in Aberdeen. Both areas have a Queen's Cross Church, I believe a distinction between the two should be made. (Please see my EDIT regarding Queen's Cross in Maryhill, Glasgow G20) Thanks. - I think the usual way of dealing with similar matters is like this, even if the target article doesn't (yet) exist. --Droigheann (talk) 14:16, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
Proposed merge with Maryhill Park
editI propose to merge Maryhill Park into Maryhill. The former article is unsourced and I don't feel the area is sufficiently distinct, or that the sources exist, to warrant a separate article. It can be easily mentioned within the article on the wider area / ward, as with the earlier Botany merge. Jellyman (talk) 07:39, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
- Agree. Crowsus (talk) 12:00, 3 August 2019 (UTC)
- Since it's unsourced i agree too Mujinga (talk) 22:16, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
- Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 18:48, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
- Since it's unsourced i agree too Mujinga (talk) 22:16, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
Maryhill Crematorium
editAnother distinction about Maryhill that could be written in by those who have better information than I (not a local) - wasn't Maryhill the home of Scotland's first crematorium, among those cremated there being Keir Hardie?Cloptonson (talk) 07:12, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
