Talk:List of loanwords in Assyrian Neo-Aramaic

The list seems to be based on OR and contains many dubious entries, especially in the choice of the source language. To pick just a couple of examples, ütü is a Turkic word. Who says it was borrowed from Arabic? Maymun is a common word for monkey in Persian, Turkish and even modern Greek (via Turkish). Who says it was borrowed from the Middle Greek mimon? Classifying the source of borrowing shouldn't be based on a WP editor's guesswork. Eperoton (talk) 02:11, 24 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
